Fan critically ill after fall at Robbie gig
A man was in a critical condition today after falling from a railing while dancing at a concert by pop star Robbie Williams.
The 23-year-old was believed to have been standing on a railing on the tier of seating at Melbourne’s Telstra Dome when he slipped, falling several feet into the crowd below, a police spokeswoman said.
The man was treated at the scene by first aid volunteers before being taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital with head injuries.
“He landed on a female fan, who was not physically injured but was treated for shock,” the police spokeswoman said.
It was not immediately clear if Williams, who is finishing a world tour with a series of concerts in Australia, was aware of the accident.
