Based on a Michael Crichton novel, so expect mysterious pits, frightening old castles, dangerous passages, black holes in time and space and a story that swings between the present-day and 14th century Europe where France and England are at war ... now there's an interesting twist!

We meet a group of young archaeologists and those black holes which act as a time portal. Their professor is sucked into the past, so it's a race against time to rescue him.

The special effects are often excellent but while it's not an altogether bad film it doesn't quite measure up to some of Crichton's previous stories.
