Gest 'astonished' at Minnelli lawsuit

The soon-to-be ex-husband of Liza Minnelli, David Gest is “really astonished” that she has filed a lawsuit against him that accuses him of stealing more than $2m (€1,673,903) of her earnings.

According to Raoul Felder, Gest’s lawyer, the producer is shocked by the accusation and is now worried Minnelli’s memory is failing her.

Felder explains, "He says he still cares about her and is concerned about her, since her memory is now failing. She got a check and a statement as to where the money went. She has all the documents."

The Cabaret star is currently in LA filming a guest spot in a new TV comedy while Gest is in Hawaii getting treatment for the pain he accuses Minnelli of causing from her beatings of him.
