Meat Loaf: I cheated death

Singer Meat Loaf spoke about his dramatic on-stage collapse and heart surgery, and admitted: “I cheated death.”

The heavyweight rock star was diagnosed with a potentially fatal heart condition after collapsing in the middle of a concert at London’s Wembley Arena. He underwent an operation to correct the defect and has spent the last two weeks recovering.

The 52-year-old singer said he was lucky to be alive after doctors discovered he had Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, a condition which causes an irregular heartbeat.
