Westlife's Bryan wants to be president
A Westlife singer says he has a serious ambition to be President of the Republic when he quits showbusiness.
Bryan McFadden, 23, said: "I'm deadly serious. When the time comes I'll run for president. I think I'd be very good. But I'm too young at the moment. Look at it this way, you get a huge house, a private jet and about 15 security guards."
Candidates for the presidency, which is a non-political role, have to be over 35. Elections are held every seven years.
Bryan, 23, would not be the first singer after the job, says The Sun. Dana, who won the Eurovision song contest in 1970, ran in the 1997 election and came third.
