Musical extravaganza planned for EastEnders

Albert Square is to host a musical variety extravaganza as the BBC promises a singalong Christmas, it was announced today.

EastEnders’ Christmas Party will bring together stars such as Liberty X, Jo Brand and Richard E Grant for the one-off spectacular.

It will be the first time the Square has been used for anything other than the soap and its spin-offs or behind the scenes documentaries.

Famous names from the show past and present will be in the show which is hosted by Shane Richie and will see Mike Reid pulling pints at the Queen Vic.

Chat king Michael Parkinson will also be hosting a festive musical variety show, Christmas Night With The Stars.
