DiCaprio mulls over film options
Leonardo DiCaprio is mulling his next project now he has finished filming Martin Scorsese’s film biography of Howard Hughes, The Aviator.
The actor worked every day but one on the 91-day film shoot, which called for scenes involving as many as 500 extras and featured Jude Law as Errol Flynn, Kate Beckinsale as Ava Gardner and Cate Blanchett as Katherine Hepburn.
DiCaprio was due to next star in director Baz Luhrman’s Alexander The Great, but Daily Variety reports the film has been delayed because producer Dino De Laurentis has failed to pre-sell the project to Japanese investors.
A rival Alexander project, starring Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie and Anthony Hopkins, and directed by Oliver Stone, is already well underway in Morocco.
Instead, DiCaprio is likely to join Robert De Niro in the drama The Good Shepherd, says the newspaper.
