'Quickie divorce' for Amanda Holden and Les Dennis

The marriage of TV beauty Amanda Holden and her comic actor husband Les Dennis was due to formally end in divorce today.

Holden, 32, and Dennis announced that their seven-year marriage was over in December last year.

They said at the time that it was an “amicable” split and declared that no-one else was involved.

Holden, currently starring in the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie in the West End, was expected to be granted a “quickie” divorce at the High Court’s Family Division in central London.

The case – Holden A L v Heseltine (Dennis’s real name) L is 14th in a list of 31 expected to go through on the nod before District Judge Roberts.

All the cases are listed for pronouncement of a decree nisi under the special procedure.

Dennis, 49, formerly the host of ITV1’s Family Fortunes, and Holden, who starred in the BBC1 series Cutting It, met in Bournemouth where they were both appearing in different shows on the south coast town’s pier.

She was 22 at the time while Dennis was 39 and were attending an opening night party.

Their marriage was rocked when Holden had a brief affair with Men Behaving Badly actor Neil Morrissey.

After spending time apart following the fling early in 2000, they tried to give their marriage a second try.

Neither are expected to attend the brief hearing.
