Comedy stars vie for top award

Ant and Dec, Ali G and Avid Merrion will fight it out for a top honour at the British Comedy Awards.

Nominations for the One.Tel People’s Choice Award were unveiled today.

The public will be asked to vote for their favourite show from a list of 10 contenders.

They include Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Ali G In Da USA and Bo Selecta.

Other shows in the running are Only Fools And Horses, Dead Ringers and Cold Feet.

The winner will be announced at a star-studded ceremony on December 10, hosted by Jonathan Ross.
