Tracey comes a Cropper in Corrie

Coronation Street’s Tracy and Roy are set to tie the knot in one of the soap world’s weirdest weddings.

Scheming Tracy Barlow wears a tacky cardigan which barely covers her growing bump as she gets hitched in the low-key register office ceremony.

But viewers will be left wondering whether she actually says “I do” and becomes a Cropper in a double bill of the show to be screened on November 17.

Superbitch Tracy has been paid to be surrogate mum for Roy Cropper and his transsexual partner Hayley’s baby.

But to ensure he has rights over over his unborn child in case she backs out, he is marrying the troublemaker.

Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) is devastated at the prospect of her beloved partner marrying deceitful Tracy.

But they see it as the only way to stop Tracy wriggling out of the deal.

Tracy (Kate Ford) too is in turmoil because she knows the baby was actually fathered by Steve Macdonald (Simon Gregson) – himself planning to remarry.

Barman Ciaran McCarthy (Keith Duffy) acts as a witness at the ceremony after learning of the tryst.

David Neilsen who plays oddball Roy Cropper said: “Roy really loves Hayley and he doesn’t want to marry someone else, especially not Tracy.

“As far as Roy and Hayley are concerned, ever since their blessing they’ve been man and wife.

“Inside Roy hates himself for this because what they are doing goes against all his morals, but he is desperately trying to be strong for Hayley. Roy gets himself so worked up, he is actually physically sick.

“If they ever found out that the baby wasn’t theirs it would absolutely devastate the Croppers.

“They have put their hearts and souls into this baby coming into the world and the thought of Tracy deceiving them for so long would be just unbearable.”
