Connery wins legal battle to produce film

Sean Connery has won his legal battle to produce and star in End Game, a thriller in which he would play a CIA spy.

The actor had sued the production company Mandalay Entertainment and producer Peter Guber, asking for £12m (€17.6m) damages when they decided not to go ahead with the film.

In his lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Copurt, Connery said the role had been offered to him in 1999 and he had spent considerable time, effort and money in developing the film before it was dropped.

Both sides say they have now reached “an amicable settlement” and Connery and his producing partner, Rhonda Tollefson, are free to go ahead with the project.
