'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' has little merit

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Director: Marcus Nispel

Cast: Jessica Biel, Jonathan Tucker, Erica Leerhsen, Mike Vogel, Eric Balfour.

Cert: 18.

The message is: if you come across a mysterious and isolated house, pass it by, very quickly.

But, of course, the bunch of teenagers we meet here can't do that. They come across a house and get chopped by a nutter. Ho-hum!

The original l974 horror was considered something of a minor, if blood-splattered, classic but this unnecessary re-make never matches it. It is a constant parade of blood and gore and screaming and it has little merit.
