Girl band Sugababes’ brief reign on top of the British singles chart was ended tonight by a little-known rap duo.

Fatman Scoop and Crooklyn Clan took the top spot with new entry Be Faithful, a dancefloor reworking of a song originally by soul singer Faith Evans.

Meanwhile, Dido continues to defy the critics by topping the album charts ahead of trendy rock favourites, The Strokes.

The New York band’s much touted second album, Room On Fire, is at number two in the album charts behind Dido’s Life For Rent.

Elsewhere in the singles charts, boy band Blue are at two with Guilty, Kevin Lyttle is at three with Turn Me On, former chart-toppers Black Eyed Peas are at four with Where Is The Love while Sugababes drop to five with Hole In The Head.

Other new entries include Popstars rejects Liberty X at six with Jumpin’ while Eminem protégé, rapper Obie Trice, is at eight with Got Some Teeth.

Meanwhile another made-for-television pop star, Myleene Klass, who found fame with Hear’Say, only managed a new entry at 32 in the album chart for her classical music album and solo debut, Moving On.
