The Darkness light up awards show

Chart stars The Darkness landed a pair of prizes at a TV music award show tonight.

The retro rockers – dubbed the band that time forgot – collected prizes for best album and and best performance by Welsh show Pop Factory.

Super Furry Animals took the title for best live act at the event, held at the studios of the ITV Wales flagship music show.

Legendary Welsh musician John Cale – the former Velvet Underground star – was presented with an award for outstanding contribution to the music scene.
