Raunchy Meg Ryan thriller In The Cut has its UK premiere tonight to launch the annual London Film Festival.
The actress and co-star Mark Ruffalo will be at the screening in the Odeon, Leicester Square, for the movie which shatters Ryan’s butter-wouldn’t-melt image and features her in strong sex scenes.
In The Cut marks the start of a fortnight of more than 30 premieres and gala screenings around London which attract major stars and directors from around the world.
The 47th festival sees Anthony Hopkins, Gwyneth Paltrow and Holly Hunter attending the many events.
There are also many other screenings for movie buffs to taste works from 45 countries, ranging from three-minute long shorts to an experimental Chinese epic lasting more than nine hours.
In The Cut is the latest film from Jane Campion, who directed The Piano. The psychological thriller features Ryan as a lonely New York woman who discovers the darker side of passion.
