Man admits trespassing at Schwarzenegger home

A man caught sneaking around California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s estate last month admitted trespassing charges.

Richard Sathianathan, 32, was ordered yesterday by Superior Court Judge Antonio Barreto Jr to undergo psychological counselling for trespassing at the Schwarzenegger estate on September 15.

Sathianathan also was sentenced to three years’ probation and ordered told to stay away from Schwarzenegger, his wife, Maria Shriver, their property and the governor’s mansion, said Frank Mateljan of the city attorney’s office.

Sathianathan, originally from Toronto, Canada, also pleaded guilty to tampering with one of Schwarzenegger’s vehicles during his unauthorised visit. He received credit for 50 days already spent in the county jail on that charge.

Private security guards made the original arrest after Sathianathan jumped a fence at the Schwarzenegger home. Detectives later determined Sathianathan had been to the property several times.
