Phoenix Nights 'fastest selling DVD in UK'

The second series of Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights has become the fastest selling TV DVD of all time in the UK, figures showed today.

The comedy classic, in which Kay plays wheelchair-bound club boss Brian Potter, has sold 160,000 copies in its first week.

And Channel 4 bosses predict it could pass the million mark in the run-up to Christmas – making it the biggest selling TV DVD release ever.

It went straight into the DVD chart at number two, behind Hollywood blockbuster The Matrix Reloaded.
