Rap mogul to star in rap murders film

Sylvester Stallone says that rap mogul Suge Knight will play himself in Rampart Scandal, the film Stallone is writing, directing and starring in, about the unsolved murders of rappers Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G.

“I thought, if you’re ever going to do a movie about the scandal, you would have to get some of the real players in there to give it some validity,” Stallone tells Entertainment Weekly magazine.

He said the film will give Knight, a key player in the sometimes lethal gangsta rap scence who has served time for weapons and assault crimes himself, the opportunity to answer questions “the audience would probably want to know - that no one ever asked, if you know what I mean,” says Stallone.

In the film Stallone will play former Los Angeles police officer Russell Poole, the murders’ dogged investigator.
