Grant cuts final ties with Hurley
Hugh Grant has cut his final ties with ex-girlfriend Liz Hurley by ending their business partnership.
The actor, who continued to work with Hurley on developing films even after their relationship ended, told journalists in London that their company, Simian Films, is no longer in the filmmaking business.
“I am not producing anything anymore,” said Grant, who, with Hurley, produced the Mafia-themed comedy Mickey Blue Eyes. “I’m not interested.. Elizabeth Hurley and I don’t really discuss projects anymore.”
In his new film, Richard Curtis’s romantic comedy Love, Actually, Grant plays the lovelorn British Prime Minister who falls in love with his secretary, played by Martine McCutcheon.
The film is likely to be a big hit, but Grant revealed he is disillusioned with showbusiness generally.
“I have felt a bit tired over the last year,” he said. “I don’t feel particuarly inclined to rush off and make a film and hawk it around the world. I don’t know what the future holds.”
