Sutherland set to play own grandfather

Kiefer Sutherland, who stars in the hit drama series 24, is in line to play his real-life grandfather in a television mini-series being produced in Canada.

The actor’s mother, Shirley Douglas, is the creative consultant for the biography of former Saskatchewan prime minister TC Tommy Douglas, who led the fight to bring universal health care coverage to Canadians in the early 1960s.
