TV presenters Ant and Dec are the hottest talent on British television, according to an influential new guide.

The duo top a list of celebrities compiled by industry magazine Broadcast.

Their pulling power and bankability puts them ahead of fellow presenters Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton.

The Pop Idol hosts have brought their Midas touch to ratings winners such as SM:tv, I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Since finding fame on kids’ drama Byker Grove they have risen to become the most popular presenters on TV, scooping three prizes at the National TV Awards including a special recognition award.

Broadcast describes the pair – Ant McPartlin, 27, and Declan Donnelly, 28 – as a “gold mine” for ITV.

They head a list of 10 stars included in Broadcast’s Hot 100 of movers and shakers in the TV industry.

Big Brother host Davina McCall is included as “the UK’s most popular and highly paid female presenter”.

Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton both made the list for their chat shows – the two men also have their own production companies.

Phoenix Nights star Peter Kay is there, as is Cold Feet’s James Nesbitt.

Parminder Nagra, 28, star of Bend It Like Beckham and soon to join the cast of ER, is also included.

The list is completed by actress Naomi Harris, who shot to fame in Channel 4’s adaptation of White Teeth, and actor John Simm, star of Human Traffic and The Lakes.

Broadcast compiled the Hot 100 after consulting top industry figures.

Directors, writers, producers and those working behind the scenes made up the rest of the guide.

They included The Royle Family’s Craig Cash, Ricky Gervais and writing partner Stephen Merchant, and Pop Idol supremo Simon Fuller.
