Thompson stands firm on film projects
While still trying to raise support for her much-criticised film Imagining Argentina, Emma Thompson
is pressing ahead with her next project, Nanny McPhee, which she wrote and will star in.
Although it is described as a modern-day Mary Poppins, Thompson insists it will still promote her beliefs.
“Nanny McPhee will have everything I believe in about how people should behave, struggling with what it is to be human,” she tells Daily Variety.
Thompson, who will soon be seen in Richard Curtis's romantic comedy Love, Actually, is also determined to film the screenplay she has written about the murder of Chilean troubadour Victor Jara during General Augusto Pinochet's 1973 US-backed coup.
