Dido rekindles romance with record company boss

Singer Dido has found love again after splitting from her fiancé, she has revealed.

The singer confessed she is enjoying a blossoming romance with record boss Ferdie Unger-Hamilton.

The couple got together after Dido split from her fiancé and partner of seven years, lawyer Bob Page – said to be the inspiration behind her hit record, Thank You.

Dido, 31, was hugely saddened by the break-up and still referred to Mr Page as “the love of my life”.

She began seeing Unger-Hamilton, a friend of several years, but they broke up after a few months and their relationship was thought to have been a passing fling.

But the star has now rekindled their love affair and was happy to confirm that they are now very much together.

“I’m having a lovely time – an unbelievable time,” she said.

“Things are going well and I’m just having a great time with someone who I really like and who I’ve known for years.”

The chart star spilled the beans about her new love during a promotional tour for the launch of her second album, Life For Rent.

The album, released yesterday, is set to top the album charts this Sunday and is already on course to score the biggest first week sales of the year.

To launch the album, Dido took a special transatlantic trip which saw her performing to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic on the same day.

At 8.30am she took to the stage at the Virgin Megastore on London’s Oxford Street, where she sang four songs, including her current single, White Flag.

After an hour-long album signing session she was whisked to Heathrow where she boarded a specially chartered jet to New York.

There she went straight to the Virgin Megastore in Union Square where she performed again in front of an enthusiastic crowd.

Casually dressed in jeans, the down-to-earth star couldn’t contain her excitement at the trip.

“This has been a crazy day – an amazing day,” she said.

“I’ve been waiting and waiting for this day and it’s a little bit surreal. I kept saying to my dad, ‘It’s a whole plane and it’s ours and it’s going to have my name on it !’

“It’s so much fun, it’s making me giggle. I feel like a princess today.”

Dido is a huge star in the US – she began her career touring there and became famous there before audiences this side of the Atlantic had discovered her.

The singer – real name Dido Florian Cloud de Bounevialle Armstrong – has sold more than 12 million copies worldwide of her first album, No Angel. She had already sold a million copies before Eminem sampled Thank You and turned her into a huge star.

She now plans to spend the next 18 months on a world tour, taking in Europe, Asia and South America.
