Kylie 'fine' as police probe threatening letters

Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue is “absolutely fine” despite reporting a series of “annoying” letters to British police, her management said today.

Representatives of the pint-sized star said Minogue was as “happy as ever” and continuing work on her new album.

Her spokesman told PA News: “There have been no death threats but letters of an annoying nature have been reported to the police and are being investigated.

“The situation has simply been blown out of proportion. I spoke to her this morning ... she is her usual self, absolutely fine and happy as ever.”

The 35-year-old singer was reported to have become concerned after letters were sent to her record company, EMI, and addresses near where she lives in Chelsea, west London.

Scotland Yard said yesterday: “An allegation of harassment was reported at Fulham police station on September 18 on behalf of a Chelsea woman.

“An investigation is ongoing at Fulham CID and at this stage there have been no arrests.”

In April last year, the singer revealed she had been stalked by a fan for five years and said he even managed to find out where she went shopping.

She said at the time: “I’m sure he means no harm.”
