Richard Harris remembered

Before there was Colin Farrell, there was Richard Harris.

The colourful and acclaimed life of Irish actor Richard Harris, who died last year, was celebrated at a star-studded memorial service at a London theatre last Sunday.

More than 300 friends and family members paid tribute to Hollywood’s original hell-raiser (take note Mr Farrell), among them actors Alan Rickman, Liam Neeson and Gabriel Byrne.

Harris’s most recent screen role as Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films brought him to the attention of a whole new generation of cinema-goers.
