Pop idol no hopers back as Outta Sync

No hopers who flopped at the first hurdle on Pop Idol are hoping to crack the charts as a band.

Five of them, including gold-suited ā€œstalkerā€ Daniel Webster, have teamed up as Outta Sync to record a single, I’m Lovin’ It.

The song is their version of a track to be used by food chain McDonalds for an ad campaign.

Individually the quintet managed to reduce the judges to hysterics as they bumbled their way through auditions.

Webster, from Birmingham, astonished the judges with his intimate knowledge of their lives, while Glaswegian Gary McGrogan turned up wearing a banana suit.

Hayley Keeton, from Nottingham, performed a Britney Spears track which was so bad the judging panel could not recognise it, while Andrew Creelman turned up dressed as Elvis.

Morwenna Marshall, from London, impressed the judges with her bust rather than her singing abilities.

McDonald’s spokeswoman Amanda Pierce said: ā€œLike Karaoke, Pop Idol is all about expressing yourself and having fun. These guys are a breath of fresh air because they entertained millions of people by doing their own thing and not caring what the judges thought.ā€

McGrogan said: ā€œOutta Sync is living proof that sometimes pop fame is not just about talent – it’s all about entertaining and just lovin’ it.
