Stone 'never wanted to marry Bronstein'

Sharon Stone has revealed that she never really wanted to marry newspaper editor Phil Bronstein.

“I’ve always been like a hippie so I didn’t really want to get married,” the 45-year-old actress told journalists in Los Angeles. “Phil really wanted to get married. He’s square, let’s just say.

“So we had this fabulous marriage ceremony – Ray Charles played and it was a fabulous party and even on the day of the wedding I told him, ’The marriage is for you, the party’s for me’.”

She and Bronstein, who are now in the throes of divorce, married on Valentine’s Day 1998. They share custody of their adopted three-year-old son Roan Joseph.
