'The Hard Word' - poorly planned heist attempt
Scott Roberts
Guy Pearce, Rachel Griffiths, Robert Taylor, Joel Edgerton

The Hard Word is one of those ill-constructed robbery films in which three brothers await release from prison so that they can join their seedy lawyer on a robbery.
There's hardly anything else to what is a depressingly weak drama, based on a poorly-planned script. It has some good moments and some good performances from Pearce and Taylor (yes, the one from Ballykissangel) but Griffiths is not given much to do.
Roberts has clearly tried to make a mainstream, Tarantino-style heist film, but he doesn't succeed.
