British actors including Bend It Like Beckham star Parminder Nagra today made up half of a United States showbiz bible’s annual “ones to watch” list

Also in the line up of 10 in Variety’s round-up for this year is Spooks actor Matthew Macfadyen.

The 10 Actors To Watch list has spotted names such as Oscar winner Adrien Brody and British Hollywood star Samantha Morton in past years.

It turns the spotlight on rising stars of TV and cinema, in particular identifying emerging actors whose screen presence should lead to big league success.

The other Brits in the list are Sienna Miller, who appeared in BBC night-time drama series Bedtime and a forthcoming remake of 60s hit movie Alfie.

Romola Garai, star of I Capture The Castle and a new sequel to Dirty Dancing, is also included, as is Chiwetel Ejiofor, who has appeared in Dirty Pretty Things and will be seen in Love Actually.
