Former Hollyoaks actor gets Joey role
Former Hollyoaks actor Jamie Dodd has landed a role in the new Friends spin-off - Joey.
The 18-year-old who played Neil in the Channel 4 soap, said he was shocked to have landed the part alongside Matt LeBlanc, who plays Joey Tribbiani in the sit-com.
Dodd will star as Joey's nephew in the new show which will feature cameo appearances from the Friends cast and Britney Spears, says the Daily Mirror.
Dodd said: "I'm still in shock, all my friends and family can't believe I'm going to LA. My ambition was to get into a show like Friends. I love it and have all the series on DVD."
He said he was handpicked for the part. "Someone at Warners saw my picture and thought I looked like Matt LeBlanc and could play his relative. I was the only one at the audition," he said.
He begins filming later this month. His publicist Amber Ross said: "NBC and Warners are very happy to have British talent involved."
