Mel Gibson’s new controversial move - The Passion, about the life of Jesus Christ - isn’t out yet, but it hasn’t stopped him receiving a mountain of hate mail from religious nutters.

Mel Gibson’s new controversial movie - The Passion, about the life of Jesus Christ - isn’t out yet, but it hasn’t stopped him receiving a mountain of hate mail from religious nutters.

Former macho guy Gibson has responded by hiring a team of bodyguards to protect him, according to the National Enquirer.

No death threats have been reported but Mel would rather be safe than sorry, particularly as they are expecting more abuse after the movie opens sometime next winter.

Mel, by-the-way, is directing the flick, not starring in it.
