Phonebooth's call well worth answering

What do you do when you hear a public phone ringing?

You know the call is not for you, but you answer it anyway.

There’s something about a ringing phone that demands to be answered and Stu Shepard (Colin Farrell) takes the call that changes his life forever.

In Phonebooth Stu is thrown in at the deep end of a deadly game when the caller hurtled into a tortuous game when the — a killer with a grudge, and a rifle — tells him that he’ll be shot him dead if he hangs up.

Stu hasn’t exactly been a good boy. He’s a media consultant with a habit of lying — to his clients, magazine editors, his wife and his girlfriend.

But this is all about to change thanks to his new-found phone-friend. He must dig deep to outwit the killer, taking the game to an even more dangerous level.

Phonebooth is a solid thriller, with an exceptional performance by Colin Farrell, and a great script.

Unusually the film takes place in real time.

It’s time well spent if you choose to answer the call.
