Clinton a classic wolf

Bill Clinton is to play the voice of a wolf in a classical production to be aired this weekend.

He will narrate a new version of Peter And The Wolf which tells the story from the perspective of the animal.

The work, called Wolf Tracks by French composer Jean-Pascal Beintus, is being given its world premiere on Classic FM on Sunday.

The recording also brings east and west together as the ex-US leader has teamed up with the Russian National Orchestra for the performance.

Unlike Prokofiev's original work, the new version has a happy ending as the wolf convinces Peter they can live peacefully together.

Darren Henley, managing editor of Classic FM, said: "Bill Clinton is a born communicator. He brings this exciting new piece of music to life.

"We'd be delighted to have him working at Classic FM full time."

Clinton is an accomplished saxophonist who considered becoming a professional musician before pursuing his political career.

Wolf Tracks is broadcast on Sunday at 9pm. The recording will be released later this year.
