French rock star questioned

French rock star Bertrand Cantat was being questioned today by French and Lithuanian judges in connection with the death of his actress-girlfriend.

He was brought in handcuffs to the prosecutor’s office in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius, where he has been jailed since late July.

The lead singer of top French band Noir Desir is the main suspect in the death of 41-year-old Marie Trintignant. She and Cantat allegedly had an argument in their Vilnius hotel room on July 27.

Trintignant was later found beaten into a coma and she died on August 1.
