Doctors upset at plastic surgery drama

America’s plastic surgeons are upset at a new, hit television drama, Nip/Tuck, which displays the ugly side of the cosmetic surgery business.

The 5,000-member American Society of Plastic Surgeons, have called it “sensational, bordering on the absurd”.

The show, which stars Australian-born Julian McMahon, as a slick, self-important plastic surgeon, has been the surprise hit of the summer on American television.

Series creator Ryan Murphy said that critics are taking themselves too seriously.

“The whole show is about two guys who are turning 40 and having midlife crises and behaving absolutely badly,” he said. “They are men before they are doctors.”
