Tape contains ‘new JFK murder evidence’

A cable television network is petitioning the US government to release an audio recording it believes will prove there was a second gunman conspiring with Lee Harvey Oswald to kill President John F Kennedy.

Court TV, which is making a documentary dealing with the circumstances surrounding the murder, is asking for the full tape which was accidentally recorded when the radio on a police motorcycle at the scene remained on.

The network has already obtained a tape that has a six-minute void, stretching from three minutes before the assassination until three minutes afterwards, and Court TV chairman Henry Schleff is convinced it is no accident.

He tells Daily Variety he wants a copy of the complete recording so that independent forensic experts can go over the crucial six minutes and pinpoint whether another rifle shot was fired.
