Details of Slane security operation announced

The Gardaí have announced details of a major security operation for this weekend's Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at Slane Castle in Co Meath.

Around 1,600 gardaí and security staff will be on duty in the area during the weekend.

All 80,000 tickets for the concert have already been sold, but gardaí said they were expecting a further 20,000 people to descend on Slane for the festivities.
