In America leads Edinburgh audience vote

Jim Sheridan's new film In America is the current leader in the Audience Award voting at this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival.

The film, which stars Samantha Morton and Paddy Considine, is ahead of Richard Jobson's 16 Years Of Alcohol.

Ewan McGregor's new film, Young Adam, is currently ranked third in the voting.

Only ten films are eligible for the award this year, and so far not all of them have had public screenings.

Previous winners have included The Full Monty, Billy Elliot and Amelie.
