Ulrika Jonsson was preparing to tie the knot today in her home country of Sweden.

The British television presenter was marrying Lance Gerrard-Wright, star of ITV1’s love search Mr Right, on her 36th birthday

The couple met on the show last autumn when the former equerry to the Duke of York ended up choosing presenter Ulrika over the contestants.

They were marrying on the Swedish island of Varmdo in a small ceremony in front of family and friends, including her mother Gun Brodie.

No celebrities were thought to be attending the daytime wedding.

Ulrika has a hideaway on the island, which is situated off the coast of Sweden, close to the capital Stockholm.

Earlier this week, it was reported that she had snubbed several of her oldest friends in Sweden by not sending them an invitation.

Gerrard-Wright, 35, proposed to the former weathergirl on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral in London on May 1 this year.

After seeking the approval of her eight-year-old son Cameron – from her first marriage to cameraman John Turnbull – the couple announced their engagement.

Ulrika will be given away by Cameron. Her two-year-old daughter Bo – from her relationship with German hotel manager Markus Kempen – is expected to be a bridesmaid.

The Swedish presenter has claimed she will drop her famous surname and adopt her husband’s double-barrelled name.

Ulrika has had a tumultuous love life and past boyfriends include football star Stan Collymore, who beat her up in a French bar, and England soccer boss Sven Goran Eriksson.
