Farrell completes film 'grand slam'

Dubliner Colin Farrell has achieved the rare feat of starring in four films this year which have reached No 1 in the box office charts.

With last year’s Minority Report, Farrell has starred in five consecutive No 1 hits.

“Four straight films at No 1 is amazing – four in the same year is virtually unheard of,” said Dan Marks of box office trackers Nielsen EDI.

Farrell’s current film, the police drama SWAT, is currently at No 1 and his previous hits were Phone Booth, Daredevil and The Recruit.

Farrell is currently in training for his role as Alexander The Great in Oliver Stone's film about the Macedonian conqueror.
