Billionaire puts up €99m for Jules Verne film
An American billionaire who has put almost €99m into filming a remake of Jules Vernes’s 1872 novel Around The World In 80 Days, has still not found a studio willing to share the costs, according to reports in Hollywood.
The film, which stars Steve Coogan, Jackie Chan, is the most expensive independent film ever to go ahead without a US distributor, reports the Los Angeles Times in its business pages.
