Lawyers plan Leslie 'libel' dossier

John Leslie’s lawyers are compiling a “lengthy dossier” against those responsible for “bringing him down”, the former TV presenter’s spokesman said tonight.

The actions of individuals and organisations are being “scrutinised” by the presenter’s legal team, which will submit a report to the TV host early next week.

Mr Herring confirmed tonight that lawyers would investigate whether any individual had been responsible for “slandering” Leslie.

For the former presenter of ITV’s This Morning to bring such an action he would have to convince a jury that an individual had made accusations about him in conversations that had resulted in his reputation being harmed.

Mr Herring said tonight: “John’s legal team will present to John early next week a case file against individuals, media organisations, newspapers and various people responsible for bringing him down, slandering or libelling him.

“His solicitors, are as we speak preparing a lengthy dossier of all the different parties that have been involved in bringing his name into disrepute.”

“John is expected to make a decision later next week.”
