Miller pens play about Marilyn
At the age of 87 playwright Arthur Miller has written a new play about his ex-wife, Marilyn Monroe.
Titled Finishing The Picture, it was reportedly inspired by the making of The Misfits, the trouble-plagued 1961 film which was not only Monroe’s last film, but also Clark Gable’s.
It has been suggested that Gable’s final illness was accelerated by the long waits in desert locations for Monroe to warm up for her role.
Among the play’s characters are a pushy acting coach believed to have been one Paula Strasberg, who was Monroe’s coach on the set of The Misfits and who died in 1966.
