The lion will roar
The C.S. Lewis children's classic The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe will be made into a film.
Lewis, born in the North, wrote the all-time favourite 53 years ago and now it's set for the big-screen treatment for director Andrew Adamson - Shrek and Shrek 2 - has been adapting the story of the four children who travel through a magical wardrobe to a mystical land ruled by an evil witch.
It is the most popular of Lewis's seven-part Chronicles of Narnia and Adamson has asked the New Zealand special effects studio behind the Lord of the Rings series to come up with suitable creatures.
