Cole Porter film 'will be fairly explicit'

The new film about the life of Cole Porter will not whitewash over the composer’s bisexuality, according to Kevin Kline, who stars in De-Lovely.

“It will be fairly explicit in terms of Cole’s appetites, though there is nothing sexually graphic on screen,” the actor tells the Los Angeles Times. “He was a complicated, mysterious guy and we don’t know what happened behind closed doors. He could get down and dirty.”

De-Lovely, which also stars Ashley Judd as Porter’s devoted wife Linda, will use 30 songs to tell the story, which begins with Porter’s childhood in Indiana and continues through his reign as America’s songwriting king of musicals and movies.

Elvis Costello, Robbie Williams, Natalie Cole and Alanis Morissette are among the singers contributing to the film.
