Arnie favourite to replace California governor

Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to announce this week if he will run for political office, after a vote to recall California governor Gray Davis was given the go-ahead.

Schwarzenegger is favourite to replace the Democrat incumbent, whose approval ratings have plunged to 20% as he struggles to control a debt that has left the state on the brink of bankruptcy.
