Beyoncé beats Benassi to top spot

Sexy singer Beyoncé Knowles tonight held off stiff competition from Italian dance phenomenon Benny Benassi to stay on top of the singles charts for the third week running.

Her solo effort Crazy in Love, featuring rapper Jay-Z – who has been romantically linked to the Destiny’s Child star – outsold Benassi’s club anthem Satisfaction to retain the number one slot.

Meanwhile, the former chart topper from Evanescence, Bring Me Back To Life, was still refusing to go quietly, moving back up one place to four.

Indie outfit The Coral also had cause to celebrate as their new track Pass It On made its debut at number five.

Irish boy band D-Side entered at number seven with their second single, Invisible.

There was more good news for Beyoncé in the albums chart, where Dangerously in Love beat all the competition.

Australian soap actress-turned-pop star Delta Goodrem came closest to knocking Beyoncé off her perch, as Innocent Eyes crept up one place to take the second spot.
