Jon tickled pink with déjà vu
Jon Tickle was waking up in the familiar surroundings of the Big Brother house this morning – three weeks after being evicted.
The data strategy manager shocked housemates – who had nominated him four times – as he walked back in unannounced.
He promised to “play games with their minds” before winning the public vote to be let back in.
For the viewers Jon, who last night wore a black suit, became something of a cult figure.
On learning that he had won 62% of the public vote, he said: “Oh well. People are not going to recognise me. For two weeks I’m going to be completely different character. I’m going to mix it up...they need stirring up.”
Last night he kept his shocked housemates guessing about how he got there and did not reveal that he could not win the £70,000 (€101,000) prize.
They screamed and shouted when the 29-year-old from Staines, west London, suddenly re-emerged.
Last night newcomer Lisa Jeynes was ejected by viewers after less than two weeks inside the fly-on-the-wall house.
But Davina revealed she had come second in the public vote to go back in.
The 35-year-old from Penarth, south Wales, held her head in her hands, fought back tears and hugged her housemates for support after her name was announced by Davina.
Wearing a white dress, she was booed loudly as she left the Big Brother house after receiving 82% of the vote.
Lisa who had surprised her housemates by inviting them to a wedding they had not known about, went on to tell Davina: “They weren’t that nice to me to be honest with you.
“I knew it would happen. I knew he (Ray) would nominate me because the loyalty is with the other housemates. I’m too strong, a bit of a threat to all of them.”
Asked why she spoke about herself so much, she said: “Conversation got so difficult in the house, if I didn’t talk about the things I did or achieved nobody spoke to me.
“I did ask questions, I got knocked back. It was like pulling teeth. They didn’t want me there.”
Davina told Lisa: “I’ve loved watching Big Brother since you came into the house because you really stirred things up intensely.”
Even the bookmakers were convinced that Lisa was for the chop, with Ladbrokes paying out to punters who backed the clothes shop worker more than 24 hours before the evictee was announced.
Ray had to pick three contestants for eviction in his role as head of house, also choosing Steph and Cameron for the boot.
It is the first time viewers have been able to vote a former housemate back in.
Providing the housemate follows Big Brother rules, he or she can stay in the house until the final on Friday July 25.
Jon has caused hilarity with his discussions on Stars Wars, frequent visits to the diary room and his know-it-all ways.
Despite his reign of dullness, newspaper and radio campaigns had battled to keep Jon in.
He will not be able to win the show, talk about the outside world, be nominated or nominate the others.
Fed, Gos, Jon, Justine, Sissy and Lisa had all hoped to return to the fly-on-the-wall house, but Tania had stayed away. Meanwhile, Anouska is in the Australian Big Brother show.
