The In-Laws

Director: Andrew Fleming

Cast: Michael Douglas, Albert Brooks, David Souchet, Robin Tunney, Candice Bergen

Cert: 12.

Why on earth bother?

In a truly pointless film, a re-make of one made at the end of the l970s (and a not-very-good one), Douglas and Brooks go through the motions as the fathers of approaching knot-tying children. The former attempts the latter to join him in getting a master criminal (Souchet); it is all so pointless and played in a throw-away fashion.

There is a great deal of talent on show, and none of it manages to engage our wandering attention. There are a few laughs but if this is supposed to be a comedy, somebody hasn't a clue about wit.

Star Rating: 1/5
