Foreman to launch fashion line

Former heavyweight champion George Foreman has never been known for his dress sense, but he has landed an exclusive contract with a clothing retailer to launch his own line of clothes and accessories.

Foreman, 6ft 4in and weighing more than 260 lbs, will earn an estimated Ā£700,000 (€1m) a year from the deal with ā€œbig and tallā€ retailer Casual Male reports the New York Daily News.

ā€œI know that clothes make the man and I’m thrilled to be working with Casual Male to make the clothes,ā€ said Foreman, 54, in a statement.

The former boxer, who became the oldest heavyweight champion in history when, at the age of 45, he knocked out Michael Moorer to regain the title he had lost 20 years earlier, is following the example of other sports celebrities with clothing lines, including golfers Greg Norman and Arnold Palmer.

He already promotes a line of household appliances that includes the hugely popular George

Foreman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine.
